Smiling carolers are knocking on neighborhood doors, braving the frosty air of winter. Eggnog has, once again, found its annual perch on the grocery store dairy-section shelf. And kids are visualizing the passel of gifts that will soon be unwrapped, only to discover that the batteries weren't included.
