In 1967, somewhere in England, a young girl quietly left her home at 5:00 a.m. on a Wednesday morning. She carried only a handkerchief and left a note behind for her parents to later discover. She was last seen the following Friday at 9:00 a.m. greeting a man from the motorcade.
She has not been heard from since. Her note, like all such notes of departure, did not say enough. Where could she have gone, her parents wondered. Are we to blame? Why did she leave us? Did we do enough?
