When my husband and I bought our house, I felt enormously lucky. It was quirky, wonderful and full of potential—a true west-side gem. We didn’t know our neighbors, but we ended up heading to the July Fourth celebration at Jordan Park. I was completely overwhelmed.
The park was packed. Kids ran through the grass carrying glowing toys. Dogs wandered the crowd collecting attention from strangers. Families claimed space with blankets and lawn chairs. It was a dusk full of laughter and different languages.
