Utah’s Pioneer Day (aka Statehood Day or “Pie and Beer” Day) has passed for another year. The floats with tin foil pioneers have been dismantled, the sweat-drenched band uniforms hung up and the streets cleaned of horse poop. We can look forward to one more month of summer until fall begins.

It’s a typical time of year for parents to buy homes in neighborhoods where they want their kids to go to school so they can enroll them ASAP. Currently there are almost 30,000 active real estate listings in Utah, per Realtor.com, up about 5% over last year.
